This week our water profile is for The Ocean Project!
The Ocean project started as a partner program with North American aquariums in the 1990s and has since become a worldwide network for ocean conservation, education, and action. They combine efforts with over 1,500 zoos, aquariums, museums, and other conservation organizations to communicate effectively with their visitors and the public about why it’s important the keep the oceans clean. Members of the Ocean Project also contribute their time and effort into researching the changing attitudes and perceptions of the general public, and they frequently organize events such as the World Ocean’s Day, which takes place on June 8th of each year and is now recognized by the United Nations.
