Founded in 1994, Sweet Relief Musician Fund is an organization that seeks to help struggling musicians in their time of need. While music is a necessary part of life, those who make a career of if often can’t get the financial support they require when facing illness, disability, or age related issues. Sweet Relief gives both privately funded and publicly grants to all kinds of club and session musicians, recording artists, composers & songwriters all over the United States. This money goes to pay medical bills associated with ALS, spinal cord injury, strokes and head injuries, diabetes, kidney failure, mental illness, cancer, multiple sclerosis, as well as many other ailments. To those who are not qualified to receive grants, they also provide counseling service and other outreach programs to provide extra assistance.
