This week’s charity is FACE AIDS, a youth-led nonprofit organization committed to building a global movement of health equity and social justice. Founded in 2005 by three Stanford students, the group began as a program through which people affected by HIV and AIDS in Africa sold beaded awareness pins to raise both money and awareness for their cause. Since then it has grown tremendously, such that there are now FACE AIDS chapters at over 210 colleges and high school, and at 30 health centers in eastern Rwanda. They have also raised over $2 million for Partners In Health to provide healthcare to these centers.
