If you like us on Facebook, you know that every day, we select a “Picture of the Day” – a photograph, painting, drawing, or design to inspire our followers! To thank the artists whose images and designs we’ve featured on our Facebook page, we’re having a raffle!
If you’ve been featured in our “Picture of the Day,” you’ve already been entered to win a free t-shirt from Love+Water Designs. Just make sure that we can get in touch with you somehow, and keep checking back here for when the contest will be over and who we randomly select as our winner!
Also, don’t forget to sign up for the main Love+Water website if you haven’t already!
Our youth board is a busy group of bright kids and we love having them around to help us out! Unfortunately, there’s not a whole lot of free space in New York that’s easy for our entire youth board to get to.
Luckily there’s a fantastic new space that was just opened last year by the website building company WiX! It’s called the WiX loungue, and at 10 West 18th street it’s just a few steps away from Union Square in New York!
If you’re a freelancer, artist, or entrepreneur, the WiX Lounge is a great place for you to host events and exhibit your work, too! It’s open Monday through Friday from 10am to 8pm, and there are all kinds of great events on their calendar!
Check our their website here, and if you need some space (or a free way to make a great website for your business, group, or even just for fun), be sure to check them out!
Our design project for buildOn, a non-profit organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty, illiteracy, and low expectations through service and education, is about to end soon! You still have time to vote for your favorite design – here are some of the top designs we’ve had submitted to us!

Did you know that our designs are printed on t-shirts by Alternative Apparel?
Alternative Apparel was founded in 1995 and has since grown into an amazing company. They’re committed to a certain quality of product that is made without the use of forced labor or child labor, and they make sure that all their vendors hire without discrimination and comply with all environmental regulations.
In addition, the majority of our shirts are made on Alternative Apparel’s new eco-friendly line, called Alternative Earth. These shirts are made of both 100% organic cotton and recycled threads that are free of pesticides, and they are treated with low-impact dyes and biodegradable fabric softeners.
What does this all mean? Well, not only is the t-shirt you buy from us a product of environmentally and ethically responsible procedures, but it’s a soft, well-made high quality article of clothing that will make you the envy of all your friends and family!
Don’t believe us? Well, you’ll just have to buy a shirt and see for yourself!
In addition to our October project, for a limited time we’ll also be featuring Jacob’s Cure, a non-profit foundation dedicated to finding a cure for Canavan Disease.
Canavan Disease is a rare genetic neurological disorder that affects about 200 children born every year. An enzyme deficiency causes the myelin between cells in the brain, which transmit nerve impulses, to rapidly deteriorate, and those affected by this disease become paralyzed and unable to move their bodies; they also suffer from seizures and lose their ability to see and swallow. Typically these children die before they reach their 10th birthday.
Jacob’s Cure was named for Jacob Holovach, who was diagnosed with Canavan Disease at six months. His mother, Jordana, founded the organization to fund research, improve the quality of life for those afflicted with the disease, and provide support to families of diagnosed children. Currently the group is committed to funding stem cell research that, if successful, could be used to treat Canavan Disease as well as many other genetic disorders.
This is a really fantastic cause and we’re happy to feature it! Send in a design soon, though, because this project has a very limited run!

Canvas a Park day was a success! Though it was a windy day downtown, we managed to spread the word about Love+Water all over Battery Park! Here’s just some of what we did:
We left stickers with QR codes to access our website where some casual passersby might see them…
As well as some great haikus about Love+Water!
Think, Love and Water
You need them to survive
Come help out the cause!
On this windy day
Love+Water Designs is
Here to make you smile!
Ride the winds of change
With Love+Water Designs!
(Don’t get blown away!)
Love and Water is
Art, Love, Charity
This was the first event that our new Youth Board got involved in and they had a lot of fun talking to people and making sure the Love+Water message was heard!
Looks like they even got Lady Liberty herself involved!
Finally, the NYU Cleftomaniacs came and performed for us in Battery Park while wearing some of Love+Water designed t-shirts. They drew quite a crowd!
Thanks to everyone who helped out and made this event possible. If you couldn’t come out on Saturday, don’t worry, we’ll have another event for Love+Water soon where you can show your support!
This month our featured charity project is buildOn, a non-profit organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty, illiteracy, and low expectations through service and education. We are now accepting designs for a new T-shirt inspired by this group and the submissions we’ve received so far are great! Here’s a look:

Get ready for a fun and exciting event! On Saturday October 15th, we will be hosting “Canvas the Park Day” in Bowling Green Park, New York City, from 12pm to 3pm to raise awareness for Love+Water Designs!
Think of it as a sort of guerilla marketing scavenger hunt: you and your friends will be divided into teams of three to place stickers around town for Love+Water Designs, except you’ll have specific (and fun!) instructions about who to give them to and where to place them. Post pictures on Twitter to track your progress (someone in your group must have a Twitter account) and compete to be the team with the most stickers placed!
After we’re done canvassing the area, join us back at the park for a free performance. The a cappella group known as the NYU Cleftomaniacs will be performing as well as our main event, the hip hop duo Duece Iconz! It’ll be a show you won’t want to miss, so come by Bowling Green Park on Saturday for a fun day of canvassing and music!
Check out the event on Facebook to RSVP and get some more information. We hope to see you there!
